The University of Hull will welcome their first Cowrie Scholar in 2022. The university will cover tuition fees and The Cowrie Scholarship Foundation will cover the maintenance and living costs through links with business and individual donors.
As an an anchor institution in the Humber region the University of Hull has more than 14,000 students and 2,000 staff. Professor Susan Lea, Vice-Chancellor at the University of Hull, said: “Here at Hull we pride ourselves on tackling the structural barriers that limit access to university. Partnering with the Cowrie Foundation will enable us to extend the work we do to ensure that every individual with the potential to succeed at university has the chance to do so.
“We aim to deliver the best possible education and wider experience such that our students develop into confident, resourceful and resilient individuals and achieve the careers and futures they seek.
